El Lugar has been a favorite of mine for many years. When I was in college at TJC I frequented El Lugar probably a couple time a week. I moved almost 20 years ago and my career as take me from Tyler to many states. I was back in town recently and OMG what a treat. Not only was I greeted by the same faces from 20 years ago the food was simply amazing. I was so glad to see they are still serving the people of East Texas so many years later and the food was as delicious as I remembered!

Been eat’n their tacos way back since 1991 when they was in they house. I moved out of Tyler but I always come back to this one on Gentry Pkwy. Cus of the good ol’ memories and the food. Los tacos y Las Quesadillas do it for me errrytime‼

Number 7 with ham. Yum!! Come by every time I come to Tyler. There 3 days and had 3 number 7s with ham.

This is the original taqueria el Lugar, I used to go when I was in college, and I no longer live in tyler but decided to visit and have their tacos again, the quality and taste are still great, best tacos in tyler, took my husband for the first time and he said the tacos are great size and authentic.

I ate there for the first time today and got the #7 with beef and it was delicious. Also an order of chips and salsa. Highly recommend!

The only suggestion is for someone to clean the tables. Everything else about El Lugar is fantastic, and it's our favorite place in TX for authentic Mexican food.
